I’m taking on the Mega Miles Challenge in support of the Charity for Civil Servants.

The Charity for Civil Servants supports current, former and retired civil servants when they face tough times.  From mental health struggles and financial assistance to relationship issues, getting through grief, and coping with disability, they’re here to help people stay strong, whatever life brings.

They’ve been there for civil servants for over 137 years, providing an umbrella of support when it’s needed most and so I'm fundraising to make sure they can be there for future generations too.

We smashed it! 379 miles between us. Here's our ugly mugs!

Wow!

Friday 17th May

Wow! I've smashed my donation goal and am only 7 miles off my steps goal!

When i signed up i had no idea how i was going to achieve 10 miles, nevermind 100 miles.

Recovering from cancer, mental health problems caused by menopause without HRT (due to cancer) and returning to work to essentially being jobless.

I couldn't see one day to the next.

Signing up to this challenge was HUGE for me but what a difference a month and stepping out makes!

I'm absolutely smashing life! Living and loving it! Cancer free and starting a fantastic new role next month.

Luckily i haven't had to use the services of the Charity for Civil Servants, but i have signposted a number of colleagues to them. The support they provide to staff and their families is amazing. Civil Servants who i have worked with over the past 25 years are passionate about providing amazing public services to those in need, in really challenging times.

You never know when you may need help from these fantastic people.
