Check out the frequently asked questions.
what is the mega miles challenge?
The Mega Miles Challenge is a fundraising event raising money for the Charity for Civil Servants. We're asking how far we can go for civil servants who need our help right now.
Taking place this May, during National Walking Month, it’s your chance to join a community of people strolling, walking, jogging, running and even cycling, to support colleagues going through tough times. Every mile matters and every penny raised will help fellow civil servants through life's tough times.
If you would like to take part, register your interest today and be in with a chance to WIN travel vouchers worth £1,000! Now that’s MEGA.
A massive thank you to our supporting partner, the Civil Service Insurance Society for helping us bring this MEGA prize to you. Check out the Terms and Conditions.

All funds raised through the Mega Miles Challenge will go directly to Charity for Civil Servants, supporting the work we do to assist civil servants and their families who are facing difficulties. Read more about the services we offer.
what if I can't reach my target distance?
The goal of the Mega Miles Challenge is to set a personalised target and have fun whilst supporting a great cause. If you find that your original target distance is too ambitious, don’t worry – just aim to do your best and celebrate your effort. You can always amend your target distance if needed. The important thing to remember is that you’ve taken part and helped raise awareness and funds for our charity.
when is it?
The Challenge takes place during the month of May, which is also National Walking Month.
You can take on the Challenge for the whole month, or simply choose to do something within the month – it’s really flexible so you can fit it around your working day or week.
Who can take part?
The Mega Miles Challenge is primarily for all current, former and retired Civil Service staff but if you’d like to get your friends and family involved, the more the mega-er!
how do I keep track of my mileage?
You can keep track of the miles you travel by manually uploading them onto your account. Be sure to log the date, activity and distance and this will log against your fitness tracker on your fundraising page.
Are we using fitness apps this year?
We are aware there were issues with the fitness app integrations last year and have decided not to use them this year - thank you for your understanding.
You will have to manually upload your fitness activity via your account which is very easy to do and takes a matter of minutes. Any activity that is uploaded will appear on your fitness activity tracker situated on your fundraising page.
