I’m taking on the Mega Miles Challenge in support of the Charity for Civil Servants.

The Charity for Civil Servants supports current, former and retired civil servants when they face tough times. From mental health struggles and financial assistance to relationship issues, getting through grief, and coping with disability, they’re here to help people stay strong, whatever life brings.

"When we didn't know who to turn to, the Charity was our life raft. We grabbed onto it when we felt like we didn't have anything to hold onto. It gave us answers to a question when we didn't have the answer ourselves... and it was so important to have that support at the time."

They’ve been there for civil servants for nearly 140 years, providing an umbrella of support when it’s needed most and so I'm fundraising to make sure they can be there for future generations too.

Hi :)

Thought I'd make a quick post to introduce myself 9 days in and say thank you to those who've donated so far. 

So, firstly, thanks everyone <3 Having done support behind me is really emboldening, especially considering my journey to get to this point.

For a bit of context, this time last year, I wouldn't bother to even entertain the thought of walking 150 miles in a month, let alone for a great cause like the CFCS. Due to a long string of personal circumstances, I was at a very unhealthy weight and far from fit.

Going into Mega Miles though, I'm in a much better place, and while I could spend plenty of time crediting many different people and changes in my life, the biggest one has been walking. Doing it do often - brisk walks every day since October '24 - has made me feel fitter, happier and has been such a boon for my overall health.

So, while I'm glad to be totting up the miles for Mega Miles this month, I'm pleased to say that this isn't just any old fundraiser - it's personal :) I hope that playing my small part will help out fellow Civil Servants when they are in need.
