Thank you!

We've now completed our May Mega Miles Challenge and have completed a total of 262 miles which I'm absolutely chuffed about!

I have really enjoyed counting up the miles whilst raising over £100 for charity in the process - it's great to see so many colleagues across the Glasgow region and beyond getting involved, so well done to you all!

Lastly, a HUGE thank you for the donations and to everyone who has cheered us on along the way. And of course, a wee shout out to DT & Claire who have kept us  company and helped us get through some of those tough miles, whether it be walking or cycling.

We're off to enjoy some well earned treats now. Over and out!

Lesley & Alfie xx

Day 31... the final hurdle!

It's our final day of the May Mega Miles Challenge and we are going out on a high!

Double spin class this morning, kicking today off with 18.1 miles on the clock.

The rest of the day has been a day for walking, getting a further 10.27 miles in. I have definitely earned a sweet treat or 2 tonight!

Day 30

We are almost at the finish line and today was another good one... 3.59 miles walked and 10.1 miles cycled.

Let's see what we have left in the tank tomorrow!

Day 29

When it's Day 29 of the mega miles challenge and you're feeling pooped...

Another 9.78 miles on our total and we've now reached our fundraising target so a HUGE thank you from Alfie and I for everyone's generosity and for cheering us on.

Day 28

Between my office commute and an evening walk with Alfie, there's been another 4.43 miles added to the clock today.

We are still squeezing in all the final miles and know many others are too, let's see how much more we can push the mileage and fundraising targets in the final 2 days!

Day 27

Into our final 5 days of the challenge and racking up as many miles as we can.

4.33 miles on our walk tonight and some lovely blue skies too!

Day 26

It was definitely a day for wrapping up today - here's Alfie sporting his raincoat whilst we took a walk around Broadwood.

4.24 miles on the clock & home to dry off!

Day 25

We spotted some blue sky and took the opportunity to get out for some steps whilst we could!

2.39 miles on the clock means Alfie and I have now bypassed our 2nd mileage target of 200 miles!!

Day 24

8 miles on the dot cycled this morning and 2.29 miles walked with Alfie - I think we are going to need to look out his rain coat!

Day 23

4.12 walked today - wee bit more difficult to get the steps in when the sky is grey and the rain is pouring!

Day 22

4.31 miles covered between my office commute and tonight's dog walk.

+ 8.5 miles on the spin bike tonight which also marked my 300th class at Revolution which is a personal milestone moment for me!

Day 21

2.4 miles covered today and a trip to our local farm tonight for some fresh milk from the vending machine... delicious!

Day 20

Alfie and I had more of a "chill" day today after yesterday's mega miles but we still managed  3.57 miles to add to our total.

Thank you so much again for the donations for CFCS. Keep up the miles Glasgow Region... the finish line is in sight!

Day 19

I have now upped my target to 200 miles, given how well I feel the challenge is going. It’s amazing how you clock up the miles when you have a reason to do so (and you’re actually enjoying it!)

I have had a super productive Monday, adding 23.4 miles to my total today alone.

17.7 miles completed during a double spin session tonight and 5.7 miles walked with Alfie between our morning and evening big walks. You will see him sitting like a good boy in this photo as he’s not allowed on the running track (but can walk round the perimeter)

Day 19

Today was particularly hot so walks were curtailed to early morning and later on in the evening. Alfie spent his day choosing between sun bathing and shade bathing!

9.1 miles on the spin bike and 1.69 miles walked.

Day 17

10 miles completed during my spin class this morning followed by a sunny day out with Alfie to Blackness Castle, adding another 2.55 miles to our total.

Alfie enjoyed an ice lolly, biscuits and a lick of ice cream on his doggy picnic - as you can see he is a happy boy!

Day 16

Another good day for miles on the clock!

10.1 mile cycle at Rev  and 3.41 miles completed on foot with Alfie.

Day 15

Another 2.89 miles walked today which takes us over our 100 mile target - woohoo!

Alfie and I are in active discussions about how many more miles we can get in this month. Alfie agreed he will walk some more miles in a trade for extra cheese tax at dinner time and 2 extra biscuits on the weekends... how can I say no to that little face?

Day 14

4.3 miles (10,187) walked today - another gorgeous day in Glasgow!

Day 13

More of a 'rest' day for us today but 2.7 miles added to our walking total - we are enjoying this good weather soooo much!

Day 12

With the warmer weather creeping in and even hotter days forecast this week, Alfie's been enjoying some early morning and later night walks when it's a little cooler.

Another 3.52 miles on the clock for us today though, DT even joined us tonight!!

Day 11

Ending the week with a Sunday morning spin ad some extra steps thrown in for good measure.

8.9 miles cycled
4.63 miles walked (10,888 steps)

Day 10

8.5 miles completed at Rev Spin this morning
5.77 miles (13,167 steps) completed

... and a delicious bbq to wash it all down!

Day 9

Alfie enjoyed sunbathing at the clubhouse and keeping a watchful eye over the 18th green tonight. After a snooze, plenty cuddles and a couple (a lot!) of biscuits we rounded off the working week with a sunset walk round the golf course.

Another 5.55 miles (13,522 steps) in the bag.

Day 8

Making the most of the sun being out and took myself on a lunchtime walk along the Clyde side.

12,151 steps completed today, covering a distance of 5.21 miles.

Day 7

Day 7 sees Alfie and I reach the halfway mark of our 100 mile distance target (looks like we might need to up our goal!)

3.42 miles completed today, with a walk along the golf course to finish our evening!

Day 6

4.77 miles (11,531 steps) covered today between my commute and an evening walk with Alfie.

Thank you again for all the very kind donations!

Day 5

A more chilled day for us today to end the bank holiday weekend - 3.67 miles (8,658 steps) covered on a dog walk with friends, washed down with a puppacino for Alfie!

Keep up the miles & fundraising efforts Glasgow Region Team!

Day 4

9.6 miles on the Rev bike this morning followed by 5.35 miles (13,603) steps covered on our evening trip to the seaside.

Can you guess where we visited?

Hint: Alfie was an extra good boy and wolfed down some doggy sausages at Cromars

Day 3

Happy Saturday!!

A little combination of miles for me today - 9 miles completed on the spin bike at Rev this morning and 4.42 miles (11,071 steps) covered across the day with Alfie.

Day 2

11,732 steps over a distance of 4.9 miles completed today between our morning walk to the park, my commute and an evening walk around Ravenscraig.

Happy Friday mega milers!!

Day 1

Just over 10k steps and 4.66 miles on the clock today with Alfie.

Please support me!

I’m taking on the Mega Miles Challenge in support of the Charity for Civil Servants.

The Charity for Civil Servants supports current, former and retired civil servants when they face tough times. From mental health struggles and financial assistance to relationship issues, getting through grief, and coping with disability, they’re here to help people stay strong, whatever life brings.

They’ve been there for civil servants for nearly 140 years, providing an umbrella of support when it’s needed most and so I'm fundraising to make sure they can be there for future generations too.
