Overwhelmed, Grateful, and Running Strong – Thank You All!

This weekend has been nothing short of amazing. I’m still trying to wrap my head around everything that’s happened — not only did I hit my fundraising target, but we’ve now raised over £500! Considering my original goal was just £50, that’s absolutely mind-blowing. I’m so incredibly grateful for every single donation, message of support, and cheer along the way. You’ve all made this journey so much more meaningful.

I’m now on Week 7 of the Couch to 5K app, and this week’s challenge is running 25 minutes straight, three times. If you’d told me at the start that I’d be running this often, this far, and — dare I say it — actually enjoying it, I wouldn’t have believed you. But here I am, lacing up my trainers with excitement instead of dread.

This whole experience has been brilliant — not just the running, but the cause behind it, the community support, and the sense of achievement that’s come with every step. It’s been a reminder of what’s possible when you set a goal, stick with it, and have amazing people backing you up.

As I head into the final week, I’m going to keep going as normal and see just how many miles I can finish on. No pressure, just curiosity and a bit of fun to round things off.

From the bottom of my heart — thank you all. You’ve helped turn a small personal challenge into something truly special.

20 Miles to Go – And What a Journey It’s Been!

Wow. Just wow.

As I push through the final 20 miles of this charity run, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and energy—not just from the miles behind me, but from all of you who’ve supported me along the way. Your encouragement, kind words, and generous donations have meant the world.

When I set out with a modest target of £50, I never imagined the incredible response I’d receive. That goal has been well and truly obliterated, and it’s all thanks to you. Every pound raised is going to a cause that matters deeply, and your support is making a real difference.

Thank you!!!!

🚨 EMOTIONAL OVERLOAD ALERT 🚨

To everyone who’s donated to my charity run: THANK YOU. I am truly overwhelmed (and not just because I realised that May is a really long month).

Your generosity has been incredible — we’ve raised more than I ever imagined, and now I’m contractually obligated (emotionally and financially) to keep these biscuit knees moving until the end of May.

Seriously though, your support means the world. Every donation, message, and cheer has powered me through. We’re doing something amazing together — and I promise to drag these legs across the finish line if I have to Sellotape them on.

Let’s keep going strong! 💪🏽💥

Ohhhhhh he's halfway thereeeee

I’ve officially hit the halfway point of Mega Miles May, and today felt like a real milestone. This morning, I completed Week 6 of the Couch to 5K app, which ended with a full 20-minute run without stopping. That might not sound like much to seasoned runners, but for me, it’s the longest I’ve consistently run since I was a kid playing football for hours in the summer sun.

The journey so far has been a mix of excitement, challenge, and a surprising amount of self-discovery. When I started this month, the idea of running for even a few minutes felt daunting. But sticking with the program—one run at a time—has built not just my stamina, but my confidence too.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about seeing progress in real time. Each session has pushed me a little further, and today’s run felt like a breakthrough. No walking breaks, no checking the timer—just me, my breath, and the rhythm of my steps.

With two more weeks to go, I’m feeling more motivated than ever. The finish line is in sight, and I’m excited to see how far I can go.

Here’s to the second half of Mega Miles May—let’s keep running!

Please support me! AKA Give me your sweet sweet cash (please!)

About me!

Five years ago, I gave non-Hodgkin's lymphoma a run for its money and came out on top, like Rocky Balboa but with fewer stairs and more hospital visits. Now, I'm swapping my victory dance for a pair of snazzy new running shoes and hitting the road! Why? Because I want to raise money for charity and prove that even after beating cancer, I can still outrun my own excuses. I've recently started the Couch to 5K program, and let's face it, my couch was starting to think we were in a committed relationship. So, join me as I jog, wobble, and maybe even moonwalk my way to fitness and philanthropy! 🏃‍♂️💪🎉

About the charity!

The Charity for Civil Servants supports current, former and retired civil servants when they face tough times. From mental health struggles and financial assistance to relationship issues, getting through grief, and coping with disability, they’re here to help people stay strong, whatever life brings.

"When we didn't know who to turn to, the Charity was our life raft. We grabbed onto it when we felt like we didn't have anything to hold onto. It gave us answers to a question when we didn't have the answer ourselves... and it was so important to have that support at the time."
Graham

They’ve been there for civil servants for nearly 140 years, providing an umbrella of support when it’s needed most and so I'm fundraising to make sure they can be there for future generations too.
