Mental Health
We're taking part in the Charity for Civil Servants’ Festive Jumper Day!
Join us in doing something special this Christmas by rocking your most dazzling, wacky, and downright tacky festive jumpers to raise money and help fellow civil servants thrive when life gets tough.
We'd love for you to be part of our festive knitwear crew or make a donation to support our fundraising. With so many people having a really tough time, getting involved matters more than ever – every penny we raise counts!
The Charity for Civil Servants can only be there if we’re there to support them. From mental health struggles and financial assistance to relationship issues, and getting through grief to coping with disability, they’re here to help people stay strong, whatever life brings. People like Malcom.

Why Mental Health Support Matters – Especially at Christmas
The festive season is often portrayed as a time of joy, celebration, and togetherness. But for many, Christmas can be one of the most challenging times of the year. Feelings of loneliness, financial pressures, and the weight of expectations can make this period overwhelming. For those already struggling with mental health, these challenges can feel even heavier.
That’s why mental health awareness and support are so important—now more than ever. Reaching out, checking in, and offering a listening ear can make a real difference. Sometimes, a simple conversation can be the first step toward hope and recovery.
As part of our commitment to wellbeing, we’re proud to have Mental Health First Aiders and resources available to support colleagues. These initiatives help create a safe space where people feel heard and understood.
This Christmas, let’s remember that kindness matters. If you know someone who might be feeling isolated or under pressure, take a moment to connect. Together, we can make the season brighter for everyone.
We’re also fundraising for the Charity for Civil Servants, which provides vital support to colleagues in need. A huge thank you to Lolly for her guidance and to Sarah Bell, Head of HR, for sponsoring our fantastic Mental Health Network.
