I’m taking on the Mega Miles Challenge in support of the Charity for Civil Servants.

The Charity for Civil Servants supports current, former and retired civil servants when they face tough times.  From mental health struggles and financial assistance to relationship issues, getting through grief, and coping with disability, they’re here to help people stay strong, whatever life brings.

They’ve been there for civil servants for over 137 years, providing an umbrella of support when it’s needed most and so I'm fundraising to make sure they can be there for future generations too.

Tuesday 7th May

Hey team,

Here’s what I’ve been up to so far to reach my target. This bank holiday weekend, we headed out on Sunday while the sun shone in order to tackle a part of the London Loop in the green belt in Enfield on a route that took up through farms, woodland and then out at Gordon Hill and through the urban jungle (yes, think I took a wrong turn!).

Bank Holiday Monday (06/05/2024), it rained and it poured but that didn’t stop me! Time to tackle a London landmark - The Tower of London. Managed to rack up almost 20,000 steps tackling the grounds and corridors, turrets and towers of this historic monument.

Was completely lost on me that is was one year since the Coronation so got blown away by the noise from the cannon and gun salutes to mark the occasion!
