Please support me!

I’m taking on the Mega Miles Challenge in support of the Charity for Civil Servants.

The Charity for Civil Servants supports current, former and retired civil servants when they face tough times.  From mental health struggles and financial assistance to relationship issues, getting through grief, and coping with disability, they’re here to help people stay strong, whatever life brings.

They’ve been there for civil servants for over 137 years, providing an umbrella of support when it’s needed most and so I'm fundraising to make sure they can be there for future generations too.

My Updates

Last post!

Friday 31st May
Well, that's all folks! 31 days later and I've clocked 53.29 miles. At times it's been tough when my legs haven't wanted to play but sometimes you simply just have to carry on!! Here's to raising money for a brilliant cause and I can't wait to do it again next year!

Cheered on!

Tuesday 28th May
Got cheered on by some cows this morning as I did another three miles. As you can see they were impressed by my running!

40 miles done…now for more!

Friday 24th May
Managed to do the 40 miles I’d pledged after running 3 miles this morning! Still one week to go, so here’s to a few more to add to the total! 🏃‍♂️

Warm run first thing!

Friday 17th May
Up early and out before it got warmer - but still a warm run - 3.15 miles before work today :-)

Sunday sun!

Tuesday 14th May
Sunday (12th) was one of our days where we volunteer as fence judges for cross country events at Eland Lodge in Ashbourne. I couldn’t run so thought I’d walk around the course instead. Only 1.53 miles unfortunately, but better than nothing I guess 😎🏇🏻

Update post

Friday 10th May
Same post, brighter day - 18 miles done now - think the log updates with Strava so should show the correct miles soon. Another 3 mile run today. Pretty warm, even at 7:30am!

Day 3

Friday 3rd May
A bit of a damp three miles this morning. The usual view over the fields was a bit bleak!

Limbering up!

Monday 29th Apr
Thought I'd chuck in a fiver of my own money to such a worthwhile cause - I have had a few ups and downs with my health over the last few years and would love to know that if someone had similar issues in the future that they would be able to rely on Charity for Civil Servants. Now to start limbering up for 1st May!

Nearly time!

Monday 22nd Apr
Looking forward to May 1st to start the challenge and hoping to smash my target miles set 😎
