Why I am doing this

Friday 3rd May I didn’t know much about the Charity for Civil Servants until a colleague said talk to them, they can help! My son had just been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and it felt like our world had been turned on its head. I had never felt so alone despite having my family around me, it felt that like I had lost my crazy bubbly son, he was a shadow of himself and I wanted to take it all away from him. I went to the charity for help,  they supported me to understand my rights as a carer and helped me arrange adjustments at work so that I could be with my son whenever he needed me. Their help kept me going through those difficult times and enabled me to function. They were also there for me when my marriage finally ended after years of struggles. On the outside everything looked rosy but it is far from perfect and my mental health was at rock bottom. Again the charity stepped up and helped me carry on and stay strong!   Share
