Together, we can turn miles into smiles!

I’m committing the Mega Miles Challenge for the Charity for Civil Servants in support of current, former and retired civil servants from mental health struggles, financial assistance, getting through grief to coping with disability. Having been providing an umbrella of assistance over 137 years, we’re here to help people stay strong whatever life brings.

Join me in the Mega Miles Challenge as we stride towards a healthier future together! I've pledged to conquer an ambitious mileage goal, but I need your support to make it happen. By donating to my pledge, you'll not only help me achieve my personal fitness milestone but also contribute to important causes.

Every step we take and every dollar we raise brings us closer to a world where wellness and generosity intersect. Let's make every mile count—your donation could be the extra push I need to reach my target and make a meaningful difference. Together, we can turn miles into smiles!

Great Manchester Run

Monday 27th May

Running the Greater Manchester half marathon in the rain was an unforgettable experience. Despite the gloomy forecast, the start line buzzed with energy as thousands of runners gathered. The route was enticing passing through the two famous stadiums of the city, first to the Etihad then the Old Trafford, turning back to destination at Deansgate. What more is I could run on the A57 motorway even though there were tricky slopes back and forth which we had to pull out a bit of running technique. While puddles, soaked shoes, and reduced visibility presented challenges, the camaraderie among runners and the enthusiasm of spectators provided a powerful push to keep going.

Crossing the finish line felt like a triumph over adversity, with the rain serving as a perfect metaphor for life's challenges. It reinforced the idea that conditions are rarely perfect, but perseverance and a positive mindset can turn any situation into a rewarding experience. This race taught me to embrace the unexpected and find joy in the journey, no matter the weather. For anyone contemplating a run in the rain, I highly recommend it—it might just be one of your most memorable running experiences.

A Love-Hate Relationship with the Pavement

Saturday 18th May

Let’s get real: I never thought I’d be a runner. But here I am, pounding the pavement and actually enjoying it. Running boosts my heart health, lets me indulge in that extra slice of pizza guilt-free, and gives me rock-solid calves. It’s like free therapy too—stress melts away, my mood lifts, and I sleep like a baby afterward.

So, why do I run? For the health benefits, the mental clarity, and the occasional runner's high. And yes, for the pizza. It’s a love-hate relationship, but mostly love. If I can do it, anyone can. Lace up, get out there, and find your own reasons to run. Happy running!
